Draw imagelist icon with transparent background for different angles

I'm trying to draw some icons on my map, for example, I have a airplane the airplane update its position from time to time, and have a direction of flight. So I have a image for each angle from 0 to 360.

I discovered that the leftmost pixel of a bitmap is used as the color for transparency, but when I use they on my code only the angles 0, 90, 180 and 270 are displayed, the angles between not. If a change the image format to JPG all the angles are shown but without transparency. Am I doing something wrong ? Is that another way to use transparency ?

Edit: I'm using the version 4.7 of the ocx, I tried to update to the 4.8 to use the icon rotate methods, but some things on my program stopped working so I stopped trying to update to 4.8
