Selecting objects on map

Feb 23, 2013 at 12:12 AM
Hi,

I am creating a small piece of software in visual basic 2012 that is able to display a long list of objects from a database on a mapwingis map. I have, however, come to a point where I need help and hope that some one here is able to provide that help :) My problem is as follows:
All the object from the database has been created as points and added a drawingkey. My question is, how can I select an object on the map and as a result get the drawingkey? I have been searching the web for an answer for quite some time now but can't find one. I hope someone here will be able to help!

Kind regards,
Krabbesmark.

What you need to do is create a temporarily point shapefile, add your objects to it and give each point one ore more attributes (fields).
Using SelectShapes you can select the shapes and read back the attributes.
Here are some relevant topics: https://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&as_q=selectshapes&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mapwindow.org%2Fdocumentation%2Fmapwingis4.8&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=
