Drag Label or Pins and Compare Attributes of Pin and Map Area?

Hi,

I hope someone can orient me. What I want to do is have a map of the USA and off to the side have fifty pushpins or labels with state capital names. I want to enable the user to drag the labels above each state, the state will highlight and the label will snap to the state. When the user is done s/he can press a button and it will show the correct and wrong matches for state and its capital city. I want to use C# for this.

Is there a way with MapWinGIS to do this or should I be trying something else? I'm locked into using C# for this.

Thanks so much

I think that is certainly possible in Mapwindow with c#, an example of drag and drop is in formmap.cs in my application velsto.

It is good to know it can be done. The formmap.cs is over 1000 lines- I find that a bit daunting, but I will take a look. Perhaps there's a shorter example. of something similiar to what i want to do.. But I also have a lot of basics to understand first too. Thank You.
