Blurry image as you zoom in

Hello all,
When I add a grid (or an image) to a map control it displays fine when zoomed out but gets progressively blurrier as you zoom in. It's as if the display is not getting refreshed from the original image or there is some funky resampling going on. What I would like to see is crisp pixel edges if possible. Is there a way to get around this?

FYI. I'm using the 4.8 ocx version of the Active X on a VB.Net project in VS10.

Thanks for any suggestions.

PS. The display from the DotSpatial control does not have this effect. I would use the DotSpatial version but I can't get the thing to recognize tif files as grids. But thats a topic for another post...

You can set the upsampling and downsampling methods for an image object.

If you set it to none it will use nearest neighbor interpolation. Other options are bilinear and bicubical.

Also calling axMap.Redraw() after zooming might also help.
