We've just published new installers for #MapWinGIS v4.9.3.5. x86 and x64: https://mapwingis.codeplex.com/releases
Please use it and let us know of any problems.

In this hotfix:
  • Updating to latest build of GDALv2.0, downloaded at May 10th 2015 from www.gisinternals.com.
  • Using GlobalSettings.TiffCompression in Grid.Create method.
  • Map.OnDrawBackBuffer2 event. Provides read / write access to GDI+ BitmapData of screen buffer. Compared to existing event supports alpha transparency. Was suggested here: http://mapwingis.codeplex.com/workitem/25998.
  • A fix for invalid error constant in OgrLayer.SaveChanges.
  • The source code has been moved from SVN to GIT, making it easier for other developers to participate

Hi Maurits,

Your image didn't make it into the post ;) Could you directly send me or describe the error?
I've been testing on a clean Win8.1 machine.
BTW. It is version 4.9.3.5, not v4.9.5.

Did you try to install the x64 version of MapWinGIS?

Today I'm going to create new installers for MWLite as well.

Hello Paul,
I installed now the x64 version and then MWLite works OK. I will try to reproduce the x86 version error.

Hi,

I installed the new version MapWinGIS v4.9.3.5 x64 on Windows 7(x64) The problem is that I can not register MapWinGIS.ocx, failure to communicate the success of the registration. In my application I get the message: "Did not find a registered ActiveX control in 'C:\dev\MapWinGIS\MapWinGIS.ocx"

What's the problem?

Greetings

Daniel, please try to open MapWinGIS.ocx in Dependency Walker and check if you have missing dependencies: http://www.dependencywalker.com/
You can also run profiling of "regsvr32 mapwingis.ocx" call in it to identify more tricky problems: http://www.dependencywalker.com/faq.html

Hope this helps,
Sergei

Thanks sleschinski, has helped "regsvr32 mapwingis.ocx" Appeared the next problem. I get the message: " Could not load file or assembly 'MapWinGeoProc, Version=4.8.6.42297, Culture=neutral, PublicKey=null' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format."

I advised the problem but I do not see MapWinGIS ActiveX "Map control" in tab "COM Components" Visual Studio 2010 To add manually to Toolbox I get message: "Self-registration for C:\dev\MapWinGIS\MapWinGIS.ocx failed." So not registered, although the message was a positive registration when I used "regsvr32 mapwingis.ocx"

Hi Daniel,

MapWinGeoProc was used in the 4.8 versions of MapWindow. MapWInGIS is used in MapWindow as well, but it has no direct relation with MapWinGeoProc.
Could you try uninstalling all versions of MapWinGIS and MapWindow you have installed on your computer?

Next you should install the latest version of MapWinGIS v4.9 again. The installer should register the ocx for you. But you can check by doing it manually again using regsvr32.
To be able to use MapWinGIS in Visual Studio you need to install the x86 version, because Visual Studio cannot handle 64Bit COM objects.
If after installing you still don't see MapWinGIS in Visual Studio you should be able to browse for the ocx and select it.

Please let us know your progress.
